Application Configurator Overview

The Application Configurator component allows for the creation of a central point of administration for financial reporting products (Database Manager, Budget Accelerator, Spreadsheet Analyst, and Spreadsheet Server). This article introduces you to the Application Configurator.

Application Configurator is used to create and maintain:

• License keys, profiles, and security settings for users.
• Database connection user IDs and passwords.
• Application settings.
• Administrative passwords and security controls.

Note: security and connection files user names and passwords are encrypted.

A single installation of Application Configurator must be completed by the administrator, and each user must be established and assigned a valid license key prior to using other analytic products.

Check for Updates

On startup, Application Configurator checks for a new version.

• If available, the installer downloads directly and, once its signature is verified, offers a one-click install.
• If you are already on the latest version, no notification appears.
• Installing requires administrator privileges; without them, you are told to contact your administrator, and a declined elevation prompt stops the install.
• Available only to Cloud-licensed users.
