Spreadsheet Server v26.3 Release Notes

This document describes the new features and resolved issues for Spreadsheet Server v26.3.

Spreadsheet Server v26.3 New Features

Title

Description

Migrate to Platform Storage On Your Own Schedule

Account Managers who opted out of Platform Storage migration during upgrade can now start the migration later, directly from Application Configurator, without contacting Support.

Key Points

  • Available in the Storage section of Application Configurator

  • Only the Account Manager role can trigger the migration

  • Migration is permanent, so a confirmation step is required before it begins

For details, refer to the Spreadsheet Server Installation and Upgrade Guidelines.

Faster Desktop Access for New Platform Users

New Platform users can now launch the desktop application and retrieve data right away, without waiting for an Account Manager to refresh the user list in Application Configurator.

Key Points

  • Security permissions continue to apply as before

For details, refer to the Spreadsheet Server Installation and Upgrade Guidelines.

Snowflake Connection Improvements

Snowflake connections in Application Configurator now offer more flexibility and accuracy.

Key Points

  • Direct Snowflake connections can specify Role and Warehouse directly, instead of requiring a Snowflake database administrator to set defaults on the account

  • Role and Warehouse parameters apply to direct Snowflake connections only, and entered values are encrypted when saved

  • Snowflake DSN SQL syntax is now available as a SQL syntax option on DSN connections, so Query Designer generates valid Snowflake SQL automatically instead of requiring manual edits

  • Snowflake DSN SQL syntax is not auto-detected. It must be manually selected on the connection, and works the same way no matter which ERP the connection points to

For details, refer to the Spreadsheet Server Installation and Upgrade Guidelines.

Upgrade Notification Downloads the Installer Directly

The new version available link in an upgrade notification now downloads the installer directly and offers a one-click install, instead of sending users to the downloads page.

Key Points

  • Installing requires administrator privileges

  • Also available from the ribbon's Check for Updates button

FIS IAS Added to the ERP Selection List

FIS IAS now appears as a named option in the ERP drop-down during installation, instead of requiring customers to select the generic Other/Multiple option.

Key Points

  • FIS IAS behaves the same way as Viewpoint; Designer GL is set automatically when Excel opens, with no extra prompt

Ad Hoc Drill-Downs

Drilling down on an ad hoc query now correctly shows the underlying transaction records when the Designer GL profile uses multiple segments.

EDQ Linked Queries

Linked queries retain the connection after Spreadsheet Server's storage is migrated to SharePoint or Platform Storage, or after a network drive is remapped. Previously, this type of migration could cause linked-query fields and the auto-generated code to go blank.
